General information and objectives

In 1997, a new Advisory Body on Climate Change Research and Policy was established by the Federal Department of the Interior (EDI). It is administered by ProClim- to support links between the scientific community, the private sector and the federal administration. It promotes climate research and supplies policy makers with knowledge and recommendations to support/improve a goal-oriented, sustainable climate policy.

The OcCC was reconstituted in 2013 based on an in depth review and consultation with the different parties.

The advisory body consists of representatives from different scientific disciplines (natural, technical and social sciences), the private sector and various departments of the federal administration. The executive link is provided by the Federal Ministery of Environment, Forest and Landscape (BUWAL).
