Specialties of Daniel Ariztegui:
Evidence of environmental change as recorded in both marine and lacustrine sediments. I use a wide range of geophysical, sedimentological and geochemical tools to extract this environmental information. These investigations are combined with the understanding of biogeochemical cycles in modern systems, its applications to the study of the deep biosphere and the present and former anthropogenic impact on the environment.
Limnogeology and paleoceanography
My present research focuses on the evidence of environmental changes as recorded in both marine and lacustrine sediments. I use a wide range of geophysical (e.g., high resolution seismic), sedimentological and geochemical tools to extract this environmental information. These investigations are combined with the understanding of biogeochemical cycles in modern systems, its applications to the study of the subsurface biosphere in lakes and the present and former anthropogenic impact on the environment.
