Specialties of Ramon J. Batalla:
Ramon J. Batalla is a fluvial geomorphologist whose research develops in the fields of monitoring and modelling fluvial processes, especially sediment transport in sand and gravel bed rivers, human interference on catchment and fluvial processes in Mediterranean areas, sediment management in regulated rivers, fluvial hydrology, river restoration, Eco-Geomorphology and flood risk analysis, modelling and mapping. He participates and leads funded competitive projects and research contracts, at a national and international level. He has conducted research studies in collaboration with the Free University of Berlin, the University of California in Berkeley, the University of Aberdeen, the University of Potsdam and the Aberystwyth University, between others. He leads the Fluvial Dynamics Research Group –RIUS (for more information see www.fluvialdynamics.com).
