Specialties of Maria Elena Gutierrez Lagoueyte:
My main research interests are in the understanding of climate change impacts on high mountain ecosystems in the Andes, the so-called páramos, towards the assessment of vulnerability and adaptation strategies for their conservation. My analyzes involve modeling of spatial distribution of species for historical and projected scenarios of climate change, hence considering fields of Geography, Plant Ecology, Ecological Modelling, and Hydroclimatology.
