Specialties of Sylvia Haider:
I'm working on plant invasions into mountains. My study areas are the Swiss Alps and Tenerife. With field surveys and experiments in climate chambers I'm analysing the role of climate, habitat and introduction history in shaping the non-native species distribution patterns along elevation gradients. I'm also interested in the role of rapid evolution and plastic growth responses during the invasions process.
