Specialties of Jan Klimes:
My research in mountain regions focuses on geomorphological mapping, monitoring and site specific investigations of landslides. I am interested in application of landslide hazard assessment for disaster risk reduction with respect to needs and knowledge of local people. I am also searching new ways how people potentially affected by landslides may become involved in landslide and landscape monitoring to raise their awareness about landslide hazard and achieve their acceptance of the proposed mitigation measures.
