Mariana Melnykovych is a natural resource and ecological economist, who working on a PhD at the National Forestry University (UNFU), Ukraine in co-operation with the James Hutton Institute (HUT), UK, after a period of her employment as a Research Assistant at the Department of Ecological Economics, UNFU and as a Consultant for International Union for Conservation of Nature, IUCN (https://www.iucn.org/ ) on ENPI FLEG Program (http://fleg1.enpi-fleg.org/) and ENPI-FLEG II Program (http://www.enpi-fleg.org/about/about-fleg/). She has a BSc in Management at the Ukrainian National University of Forestry and Wood-Technology (with Distinction) and MSc in Environment and Natural Resource Economics at the UNFU (with Distinction).
Mariana’s primary interest is in scientific research in the fields of natural resource economics and ecological economics, policy and management, institutions, governance, attitudes and behaviours, participatory and ethnographic research, social security and communities’ well-being, stakeholder evaluation and engagement, sustainable development; multifunctional forestry and sustainable management and use of natural assets, land use and landscape changes, and rural and regional developments in mountain territories, particularly taking into account multiple ecosystem goods and services.
