Abstract:
This motivation concept for the population of the UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch focuses on an extraordinary, well presented core target group, which is definitely worthy to work on – the Absent Third Party. As it can be deduced from this term it deals neither with proponents nor with opponents of the biosphere reserve. Instead, certain measures are proposed in order to motivate the bigger und so far absent part of the population, summoning these people out of their silent entity. The applied methodology for the design of the concept as well as the theoretical basics of communication and motivation are initially presented in chapter 2 and 3. Upon that follow in chapter 4 two summaries of successful motivation campaigns, which function as a model for this study. A short analysis of the present motivation among the local people is finally described in chapter 5 and probably provides the most significant premise for the elaboration of the subsequent motivation concept in chapter 6. The concept itself includes descriptions of the core target group, the positioning, the Framework of Message Design, the recommended measures as well as the provided efficiency review. Three main measures, embedded in supportive activities, are regarded as the centerpiece of this bachelor thesis. Finally presented in chapter 7 are the conclusions of this study and critical reflections thereupon as well as recommendations to the biosphere management on the further course of action.
