Abstract:
The project explores the effects that the Spöl eflood has had and will have on the Inn river system downstream. At the end of the project we will have a complete picture of the sediment regime of the Inn river. The project will be able to explain past trends and to predict the effects that the Spöl recent aggradation and increased sediment supply, will have on the Inn morphology and sediment. At the end of the project we will also be able to map the depositional hotspots and the new areas of intense sediment transport, this will help to prepare for a better sediment management by the EKW and will also help to restore and improve the ecological situation for the Inn river.
