Abstract:
AlpsLife promotes science-based strategies for preserving and restoring biodiversity, facilitating transnational strategies. It uses EU-wide relevant ecological indicators to monitor some aquatic and terrestrial Alpine ecosystems. It combines existing monitoring schemes and different data sources to ensure the comparability of results between Alpine states, bringing together available biodiversity data and experiences in national parks and protected areas. This enables a better understanding of Alpine biodiversity trends and the implementation of appropriate cross-border management measures.
