Abstract:
LiveAlpsNature unites biodiversity protection goals with local tourism strategies & innovative visitor management based on the One-Health Approach (OHA). The project activities are divided in 3 steps: (1) Analysing the impacts of NBA on biodiversity, NBA trends & visitors behaviour at alps-wide level. This extensive understanding of outdoor trends and impacts on biodiversity serves as base for (2) shaping a roadmap that safeguards biodiversity & creates innovative OHA-based offers. (3) These biodiversity-friendly models integrating benefits for environmental and human health will be implemented & tested. Open GIS-data with information on biodiversity, vulnerable areas & potential health benefits guarantee the implementation of biodiversity-friendly visitor offers. Selected Alpine Protected Areas act as pilot regions & ensure direct strategy implementation. Interoperability standards & open data contribute strongly to dissemination across all digital platforms.
