Abstract:
In the Central European floodplains as well as the Alps nearly all medium and large flowing waters have been strongly modified by man. The Rambach in the Müstair Valley (Kanton Graubünden) is the only Swiss alpine river that has not been altered for hydroelectric use. Until now, no monitoring of abiotic and biotic parameters has been carried out. In the planned study of the Oldenburg University (Germany) it is aimed to control some water physical and chemical parameters, as well as flora and vegetation and the dragonfly fauna of one river stretch that has been revitalised some years ago (2014 and 2015). Furthermore we will study the dragonfly fauna of the whole Rambach river from the spring to the Italian border, in order to prove the possible correlation of dragonfly diversity with river morphological and physical parameters and with the shore vegetation (forests dominated by Alnus incana, or open vegetation dominated by magnocarices and megaherbs).
