Objectives of NFP54:

The research programme focuses on sustainability as it relates to buildings and the development of the built environment. It will establish methodological, scientific and technical fundamentals for the integration of principles of sustainability into the development of the built environment in order to meet the requirements of modern society.
The specific objectives of the three research axes are:

to enhance knowledge in the functioning and evolution of the built environment;

to integrate all aspects of sustainability into a creative and integrated design and planning process of the built environment; and
- to integrate all aspects of sustainability into the operation and management of the built environment throughout its life-cycle.

The NRP aims to provide various actors (public officials, the private sector and builders) with the basis for the development of practical instruments necessary to give greater attention to the principles of sustainable development in construction engineering and the sustainable development of the built environment.

Die Forschung konzentriert sich auf die folgenden drei Schwerpunkte:
- Erweiterung und Vertiefung des Wissens über das Funktionieren und die Weiterentwicklung von Siedlungsräumen und deren Infrastruktur;
- Einbezug aller Aspekte der Nachhaltigkeit in ein kreatives und integriertes Entwerfen und Planen; und
- Einbezug aller Aspekte der Nachhaltigkeit in die Bewirtschaftung von Siedlungsräumen und deren Infrastruktur im Verlauf des Nutzungszyklus.

Das NFP soll für verschiedene Akteure (öffentliche Hand, Wirtschaft, Bauherrschaft) Grundlagen zur Erarbeitung praxistauglicher Instrumente liefern, die für eine zukünftig verbesserte Beachtung von Grundsätzen der nachhaltigen Entwicklung im Bereich des Bauwesens und der Siedlungs- und Infrastrukturentwicklung erforderlich sind.

Placé dans l'optique du développement durable, le PNR couvre des recherches sur l'entretien et le développement de l'environnement construit. Il établira des fondements méthodologiques, scientifiques et techniques de l'intégration des principes du développement durable dans l'évolution de l'environnement construit afin de répondre aux besoins de la société moderne.
Les objectifs spécifiques du PNR sont:

d'améliorer la connaissance du fonctionnement et de l'évolution de l'environnement construit ;
- d'intégrer tous les aspects du développement durable dans une conception et un processus de planification créatifs de l'environnement construit ; et
- d'intégrer tous les aspects du développement durable dans les processus opérationnels, l'exploitation et la gestion de l'environnement construit durant son cycle de vie.

Les résultats de ces recherches fourniront à divers acteurs (pouvoirs publics, maîtres d'ouvrage, industrie du bâtiment) des bases scientifiques utiles à l'élaboration d'instruments servant à mieux intégrer dans la pratique les principes du développement durable dans le secteur du bâtiment et dans le développement de l'environnement construit.
