General information and objectives
The goals of the ERU NatuRe are (1) to identify processes and strategies to ensure healthy use of soil, ground and surface waters and to develop technology for achieving high standards of soil and water quality targets; (2) to develop and optimize restoration strategies for aquatic ecosystems; (3) to identify Best Management Practices for sustainable use of forests (here add wood production); (4) to improve the understanding of use of geothermal heat; (5) to establish a Center of Competence for Water and Agriculture on the sub-Saharan region.NatuRe’s strategies are: (1) to focus on the three big future problems of (i) natural resources and food production, (ii) renewable energy (wood and geothermal heat); (2) to use extensively the intellectual and methodical resources available within ETH-Domain; (3) to build-up common platforms and frameworks for integrated projects among the partners.
