Objectives of Swiss-Biodiversity-Forum:

  • improve the contacts among biodiversity researchers of all disciplines at home and abroad
  • intensify the communication between science, practice (i.e., nature and landscape conservation agencies, monitoring programmes, NGOs, land users, administrative authorities) and the public.


    German:
    Das neue «Nationale Forum Biodiversität» soll dazu beitragen, die an der UNO-Umweltkonferenz von Rio de Janeiro von 1992 eingegangenen Verpflichtungen zum Schutz der biologischen Vielfalt umzusetzen. Dabei geht es insbesondere um die Verbesserung des Informationsaustausches:

    * innerhalb der Wissenschaften auf nationaler und internationaler Ebene;

    * zwischen Anwendung (d.h. Behörden, Natur- und Landschaftsschutz, Industrie) und Wissenschaft über die Resultate der Forschung und über die Bedürfnisse der Anwenderseite.
