Objectives of CORE: The Federal Energy Research Commission acts as consultative body for the Federal Council and the Department of Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC). It defines the Swiss Federal Energy Research Master Plan, reviews and supports Swiss energy research programmes, comments on other energy research activities by the federal government and provides information concerning findings and developments in the area of energy research. It comprises 15 members who represent the industrial sector, the energy industry, the federal institutes of technology, the National Fund, the Commission for Innovation and Technology, universities, colleges of technology, the cantons and other promotional bodies.
