General information and objectivesThe Sound Science Initiative (SSI) is a national, quick-response electronic network that allows participating scientists to get informed about and respond to four global environmental issues--biodiversity loss, climate change, ozone depletion, and population growth. SSI was born out of the scientific community's growing concern over damage to the earth's natural systems. Our goal is to make it easy for you to stay informed about and to help raise public literacy and shape environmental policy on the critical global environmental issues of our times.
