Objectives of ICALPE: ICALPE is an international and non-governmental organisation, scientific in character, to promote a holistic and scientific approach for a better integration of conservation and development in the mountains of Europe. Leading a network of individuals and institutions who contribute to the knowledge of mountain environments it also maintains contacts with the European States and international bodies (IUCN, Unesco, FAO, Council of Europe, European Union, European Science Foundation, etc.).
