Objectives of CLIMAG:

The CLIMAG Task Group developed a strategic implementation plan for a regional program on climate predictions for agriculture. The TG considerations included:

the linkages between climate variability and crop productivity;

the impact of climate variability on crop productivity by analysis of crop models;

the coupling of climate models with crop models; and

strategies to optimize farmland decision-making using climate prediction.
